Stuff Related to Turning 35.

Turning 35 brought a couple fun things my way.

Here's my birthday cake which I forgot to put in my previous birthday post.  It's a Little Debbie "St Patrick's Day Fancy Cake."  I am obsessed with the Fancy Cakes snack cakes.  Easter Cakes.  Christmas Tree Cakes.  Fall Cakes.  Regular old Fancy Cakes.  I could easily eat like 8 of them in one sitting.  I've not had one since I started Weight Watchers almost two years ago so that's why I decided to have ONE for my birthday cake.  4 points for ONE.  And that would be why I haven't had one in so long.  It was just as delicious as I remembered.  Stupid Fancy Cakes.

When you turn 35 you have to get a new driver's license.  I had the option to just renew online and I promptly rejected that option in favor of heading to the license branch.

Do you blame me?

Look at that full, round face!  I look like a completely different person.  As much as I've traveled lately, I seriously CANNOT believe that the TSA NEVER stopped me.  Plus, 190 pounds?  Yeah right.  I was definitely in the 220s in that photo.

Check this out y'all!  A license that isn't a big fat lie!

My doctor suggested that I go ahead and get my baseline mammogram at 35.  She's never been too fond of my lumpy boobs (I didn't know they were lumpy as I don't have much experience with any other boobs - but apparently, they are - sorry, TMI??).  So, I'm guessing she decided to use this age milestone as an excuse to get them smashed and x-rayed.  I was dreading the whole ordeal because you hear so many horror stories about how awful and painful it is.  We'll I'm here to tell you, it was no. big. deal.  At all.  I was in and out of the office in less than 20 minutes and that includes the paperwork I had to fill out, disrobing, the "smashing," re-robing and out the door.  It was not painful.  It was only mildly uncomfortable, but it was over so fast that I hardly had time to even think about it.

And my results came back.  Lumpy or not, they looked good to the x-ray machine!  Take that, 35!  Mammogram CONQUERED!

Our 6th Anniversary

Joel and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary the same day that I had my Farrell's awards ceremony.  Isn't he an awesome guy for enduring a 2 hour awards banquet with a bunch of people he doesn't know ON OUR ANNIVERSARY?

I feel kinda bad that I posted all about my Farrell's results before I posted about our anniversary but I guess that's how it goes with blogging.  Things aren't always in chronological order or even prioritized with most important first.

My handsome partner in life.  I really don't know what I'd do without him.  He makes me absolutely INSANE some times (as I do to him) but there's really no better man on the face of this planet that I would rather feel insane around.

We went out to dinner to Tre' Bicchieri.  It was amazing.  Spicy vodka cream sauce - I love you.  Joel scored us free cheesecake by mentioning our celebratory reason for dinner.  I was so embarrassed when he told the waitress, but I totally got over it when she showed up with that cheesecake.  It was bad word delicious.  Thank goodness it was fun day.

This weekend, at the kids Easter program, a man came up to me afterwards and told me that I look great and was asking me about my weight loss and such.  Then he said, "I have to be honest, when I first saw your husband today with his arm around you, I thought to myself, 'Oh no, he's here with another woman!'  But then, I realized it's the same woman, she just looks a lot different!"

What a compliment!

However, I will say, after 6 years of marriage, 8 years of togetherness, Joel did get a different woman to put his arm around.  One that's healthy and fit and that he can carry over the threshold without giving himself a hernia.

Palm Sunday 2015 - No Crying - Some Singing! BOOM!

Yay!  We made it through an entire program without crying and WITH hand motions and even some singing!  Yes!  It was a very lovely morning at First Church of the Nazarene (where Kidz First Daycare is).

Can't believe how much these kiddos are growing up.  Remember the first program Lily did??

Sorry if this looks like I've posted 47 of the exact same picture.  There's just these subtle nuances that are different in each one and I just couldn't decide which ones to put...so up they all went.

Love this one.  Both kids are fooling with their clothes.

After the singing, there were cookies and an Easter Egg hunt.  The kids had a great time grabbing up Easter Eggs and Joel and I are happy that we netted out to the negative on candy (in other words, we donated more candy filled eggs than the kids collected today).  There was an Easter Bunny in the midst too and Tyler was intent on seeing him.  But upon encountering the bunny, Tyler retreated to my armpit and didn't want to have anything to do with him.

We also did something we've never done with the kids before - dyed Easter Eggs.  They did pretty good - only dropped each of the eggs once or twice.  Lily kept asking when we were going to eat them.  Something tells me that she actually has zero intention of eating them but is very interested in cracking them.
