The Apple Works.

Two years ago, we tried out the Apple Works Farm shortly after Tyler was born and really had a good time.  Somehow, last year, we totally missed it so this year we wanted to make sure we fit it in to our busy fall schedule so on Sunday morning we headed on over there.

First up, pony rides!  When we did this last time, Lily insisted she wanted to ride the ponies so we waited forever and when it was finally her turn, she cried the whole time and hung on to me for dear life.  It was miserable.  So this time when both kiddos said they wanted to ride the ponies, I was skeptical.  Partly because I doubted whether Lily really wanted to ride it and partly because I thought Tyler would might take his turn to melt down and cry the whole time.  At least this time we were smarter and got to the Apple Works right when they opened so the line was minimal.  And then, they both surprised me and loved their pony rides.

After that, we went on a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch.  Family selfie!

The kiddos had a good old time wandering through the patch.  Every two steps Tyler said, "There's 'nother one!"

After we selected our pumpkins, we hitched a ride back on the wagon.

After pumpkins we did a little apple tasting and then had a picnic lunch.

Tyler was pretty stoked about the school bus cut out...

Tyler was all about the animals.  He wanted to pet them and feed them all.  He was especially fascinated with the chickens.  I have no clue why but he kept going back to them.  Lily was only mildly interested in looking at the animals and she wanted absolutely no part in feeding them.  Gross.  In fact, in one of the pictures below, she's trying to use Tyler's hand to pet the goat.  She wanted to pet it, but she didn't want to touch it.  Haha!  She's TOTALLY my daughter.

And lastly, we played on the barn playground a little before we called it a day.

What a wonderful Apple Works day!
